About Sal Agrusa
Sal was born and raised in Metro Detroit and graduated from Cass Tech High School. Having grown up in a household with parents that instilled in him a strong work ethic at a young age; Sal always knew he wanted be an entrepreneur.
After several creative endeavors and learning experiences from successful mentors; Sal started his own landscaping company in 1993. Sal is a devoted father of three and has always enjoyed working hard to provide for his family. By the year 2000, he owned and operated one of the most successful landscaping businesses in all of Macomb County.
As the Real Estate market started to crash in 2006, many of Sal's landscaping clients found themselves unable to afford their lawn maintenance. As the economic condition of Metro Detroit continued sinking to lows unseen since the Depression, these long-term customers were now faced with the reality of losing their homes. Experiencing first hand the loss and suffering of so many wonderful clients with whom he had long and fruitful business relationships, Sal was provided with a unique insight into the trials and tribulations facing home owners at that time.
Instead of panicking about the potential demise of his own business, Sal felt an overwhelming need to figure out a way to help these people. He began reading a lot of articles on the housing crisis and doing research into why foreclosures were happening at such an alarming rate. This led him to believe that getting into Real Estate was the answer.
By 2008, Sal made the decision to sell his landscaping business and become a full time Realtor. Everyone told Sal he'd be insane to start a new career in Real Estate as the market continued to crash. 80% of the Real Estate market was either a short sale or a foreclosure. However, Sal became an expert in negotiating with banks on behalf of homeowners. He helped hundreds of people to sell their homes in a short sale, salvage their credit and avoid foreclosure. Because of Sal's tenacity, combined with his knowledge and experience in marketing, negotiating, and sales; he quickly became one of the top new agents at Keller Williams Realty.
Finally in 2011, the Real Estate market started to recover. As prices began to rise and the market started to shift, Sal saw the need for advanced training and continuing education to stay ahead of the times. Since then, Sal has earned the following Nationally Accredited Designations: Seller Representative Specialist and Accredited Buyer Representative. These two designations have enhanced his skills substantially at negotiating the most money for his sellers and the best deal for his buyers.
In 2014, he took the lengthy and extensive training to obtain his Broker's License, passed the state exam and is now a licensed Associate Broker with Keller Williams Great Lakes.
Having become a respected leader in the Real Estate industry, Sal was invited to join the board of directors; known as the Agent Leadership Council (ALC). As a dedicated ALC member ( 2011- present ), he is awarded the opportunity to mentor new agents, teach classes, and make decisions for the office as a whole.
In 2014, Sal sold more Real Estate than any other individual agent in his large office, earning him the coveted Top Agent Award! He is currently on track to be the Top Agent in the office for 2015 as well!
Sal has also hired full time administrative support, so he can do what he enjoys the most: face to face appointments with clients, negotiating on their behalf, training new agents, and enhancing his own education.
In 2015 Sal has become a member of the Society of Certified Senior Advisors so that he can confidently educate seniors with their Real Estate needs
Sal loves being a Realtor and has a unique ability to interpret the market so he can expertly advise clients to make educated decisions with confidence.
